Scan a BusinessWatch Video Demo

This is a specific two-day process. Not a conceptual overview. Not a strategy framework. A step-by-step sprint that produces a scored, prioritized list of local businesses with documented competitive gaps, ready for outreach on Monday morning.

The inputs: a target vertical, a target city, and F! Insights installed on your WordPress site. The output: a pipeline of prospects organized by GBP gap severity, with AI-drafted outreach ready to send.

What You Need Before Saturday

  • F! Insights installed with both API keys configured. See F! Insights Setup if you have not done this.
  • A specific vertical you understand: HVAC, dental, auto repair, landscaping, or any category where you have done work before.
  • A specific city or metro area. Tighter geography produces better competitor comparison data in the scan results.

Saturday Morning: Build the Target List

Open Google Maps. Search your target category in your target city. Work through the results systematically, noting business name and address for each. Aim for 100 to 150 entries: more than you need, to account for businesses that return incomplete scan results.

As you build the list, note any obvious signals worth flagging for prioritization later. For guidance on which niches tend to have the most consistent GBP gaps, see Best Niches for Local SEO: Where the Scan Data Points.

Saturday Afternoon: Run the Bulk Scan

  1. In your WordPress admin go to F! Insights, then Market Leads, then Bulk Scan.
  2. Upload your CSV.
  3. Set scan radius to two to five miles for most urban and suburban markets.
  4. Start the scan and close the tab. F! Insights processes in the background via WP-Cron.

Let it run overnight. A list of 100 to 150 businesses typically completes within a few hours. F! Insights includes automatic recovery for any stuck items.

Sunday Morning: Review the Results

Open your F! Insights pipeline dashboard. Sort by overall score ascending. For your top 30 to 40 results, look at Competitive Position, Review Count gap, Profile Completeness, and PageSpeed. Flag the businesses where multiple categories score low.

Sunday Afternoon: Prep the Outreach

Use the AI pitch generator in the F! Insights Leads tab for each of your priority prospects. Review each draft. Adjust the tone if needed. For how to use scan data in cold outreach effectively, see Cold Email Local Businesses: The Data-First Approach.

Monday: Send

You have a prioritized list of local businesses with documented competitive gaps and personalized outreach referencing specific data about their own situation. AgencyAnalytics VS F! Insights

AgencyAnalytics is a reporting dashboard, it pulls in data and shows clients charts. F! Insights runs GBP audits, generates service pages, manages post cadence, handles billing, and finds new clients. Different tools for different jobs.

Whitespark VS F! Insights

Rank tracker, citation finder, reputation builder, each billed separately, each its own login. F! Insights covers prospecting, GBP management, AI outreach, and client billing in one WordPress plugin on your server.

BrightLocal VS F! Insights

At 50 managed locations, BrightLocal Grow runs $449/mo. At 100, it’s $899/mo. F! Insights is $300/mo flat; and it runs on your WordPress site, not theirs.
